Building bridges for people from
different religious and ethnic
backgrounds to understand each other and
reach a common ground where they can
peacefully accept and respect one another

The WHOLE IDEA

It’s a platform for people to create a dialogue, through discussions, educational interfaith activities and gatherings, where everyone can share their thoughts, views and most importantly;
questions! ‘Bridges’is not about converting people to Islam, it’s about letting people understand the true teachings of Islam.

Our dream is to facilitate the peacemaking process in the whole world, and as the future is in the hands of ‘Youth’, we also work on empowering them with knowledge that allows them to know themselves, understand their religion, their history and understand other people and mindsets, so that we can finally achieve tolerance.

THE NEW ERA

Bridges Foundation was the fruit of one of the most tragic world events, 9/11, which was the start of a new era full of rage between people belonging to different cultures and religions. Ignorance, disrespect and the human nature of misjudging created great misconceptions, especially about Islam.

While ideas and principles about Islam were being deformed, Eng Fadel Soliman was taking the initiative, aiming to show people the true beliefs of Islam. He chose to shift his career and start a long journey explaining that terrorism has no religion and that Islam is against what happened in 9/11, in Afghanistan and Iraq.

He started by giving presentations about Islam around the USA, until 2004 when he came to Egypt to establish Bridges Eg, the headquarters of Bridges Foundation. After the incident off the anti-Islamic Danish cartoons in 2005, he was invited by the Queen of Denmark to give a speech about Islam, and that was the launching point of Bridges in Egypt. Since then, various training programs and conferences have been held, many presenters have taken the lead and documentaries have been produced. And the journey continues …

PERSPECTIVE

Vision

To be the pioneers in building bridges between people of different backgrounds and train Muslims on becoming public speakers and professional presenters capable of presenting Islam as a culture and way of life to their fellow non-Muslims.

Mission

Opening communication channels to narrow the existing gap – of knowledge and understanding – between Muslims and non-Muslims, through educating both sides about each other’s culture.

DIVISIONS

The vision and mission of the foundation are realized through two main divisions;

Public Presenters for Peace (PPP)

Is a group of certified presenters specialized in presenting the true values of Islam to non-Muslims, in all languages, through presentations that explain certain concepts such as Jihad, Women in Islam, The Veil (Muslim women’s outfit) and Human Rights. These presentations were presented to thousands of people around the United States and Europe rectifying their misconceptions about these topics. .

The International Institute for Training Presenters (IITP)

Is an institute that trains Muslims on how to present Islam to non-Muslims appropriately. How to answer the questions raised, and handle the misconceptions they have about Islam. The training is acquired through a 15-hour workshop which each attendant receives a certificate upon finishing.

Our programs have had strong impact in the past in different places, such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Correction, many universities, high schools and churches in USA, the book fair of Frankfurt during the Arab league, and many other events.

Last but not least, our board of trustees consists of many international highly presentable and famous personnel from different countries and religions of the world. May God help us attain our Goal, and bless us all.
